Projects on Purpose Inc. (POPI) is a nonprofit organization that addresses the needs of individuals designated as having a serious mental illness (SMI), including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, and other conditions. These individuals face unique challenges that require tailored support. While co-occurring substance use disorder is common, it should not overshadow the primary diagnosis of the mental illness. Our focus on serious mental illness is vital for those who do not qualify for disability services through ordinary channels, ensuring that their specific needs are met with appropriate and dedicated resources.
